When Did The English Monarchy Stop Holding Court?

The Monarchy still holds court. Example: When the US Ambador offers his/her credentials to the Court of St. James's, or when somebody is knighted, or when a visiting dignitary gets a State Dinner, or when Harry and William play hoops at the local schoolyard, or when Princess Anne payhs a traffic fine. (Oh, "that" kind of court!)
