Stopping before it starts?

so when I went with my friend to visit a barn I am moving my horse to, she noticed that all the horses at the barn crib. She said it is something that they teach each other and I know how awful that can be for their health. If I buy a miracle collar and put it on her, will it deter her from cribbing before she even starts it? or does anyone have any other tips for clearing up her cribbing before she starts it? thanks
